It always appals me that such a wonderful ministry is so often challenged by those who have either never experienced it or received a session from an unqualified practitioner. I’ve just watched a YouTube video claiming to be an exposé on Sozo and which spent the first several minutes telling us that those involved with the ministry don’t use the word Sozo correctly.
Seriously?
What’s essential about Sozo is what it is and what it does. Most usually described as being an inner healing and deliverance ministry, I tend to add a precursor to this. For me, Sozo is above all a communications ministry. As Sozo ministers we help those who come to us, we call them ‘guests’, to hear and communicate with Father God, Holy Spirit and Jesus for themselves because it’s out of that line of communication that their healing with come. I can tell you unequivocally that God loves you and when I do so you’ll nod and say ‘Yep’ or ‘That’s nice’. If, on the other hand, you can be helped to hear from God Himself that He loves you, well that’s a different ballgame, or it should be.
In a Sozo session what I’m doing is hosting a meeting, a meeting between the guest and the Godhead. I’m helping the guest to ask Father God, Holy Spirit and Jesus the questions they need to ask that will unravel and address all the trauma and pain of the past. I’m helping the guest to unburden themselves of unforgiveness, to see themselves as God sees them, to peel back and discard the lies that a lifetime of carrying hurt has taught them. And it’s all done through and by God, a God who always wants to be in constant relationship with us but whom we restrict to the requests in our prayers. Which is odd when you think that a basic of Christian belief is that Jesus lives within us.
To my knowledge, Sozo is the only inner healing ministry that is premised on a two-way conversation with God, and I’ve never yet met anyone who doesn’t need that. Don’t ask me to pray for you when I can help you to pray for yourself!

And those negative comments one hears? Sozo is a very powerful ministry! You’re helping people hear from God and be in a relationship with Him. You’re helping people deal with their deepest past. That’s why it’s so important to only work with qualified and experienced Sozo ministers who are part of the recognised Sozo network. The negative comments invariably come from people who weren’t careful about who ministered to them.
