Declarations
During your Bethel Sozo, you will have broken and removed the right for many negative thought patterns and lies to rule in your life. Now, you have to learn to walk free of the residual habits that formed because of those lies. God will have revealed the truths, which replace those lies. What you should do now is to build these new truths into your life by declaring them.
What does this look like? Of course, it dependson what the lies were, but you’ll recognise them the moment they crop up! For example, they could include: “When I look in the mirror, I’m ugly.” “I can’t drive on freeways.” “I can’t speak in public.” … or “I’m not good enough for this.” If God has told you that these are lies and revealed the truth to you, believe Him – He knows you better than you know yourself. To break the habit, you have to challenge the lie, and we suggest you do this by declaring truth.
Steve Backlund, one of the pastors at Bethel Church, writes and talks about the importance of making declarations. Declaring the truth of who you are as God sees you is much more powerful than just self-talk. It shifts the atmosphere. It changes the spiritual environment. It gives notice to the enemy that the past is done and that God’s Word rules. Declarations are powerful, and they’re best done out loud! In Sozo, we believe that the enemy can’t read your mind, but he can certainly hear your voice. So, don’t hold back in your declarations!

Prayer and Response:
Today, make your response your prayer too! Turn all the truths that you received in your Bethel Sozo into declarations and prayers. Write them down. Then declare them out loud over yourself for at least the next 30 days. What does this look like? Well, if Father God has told you that He finds you clever and beautiful and He loves you, then speak it out! “I declare that I am a beautiful daughter/son of God. I declare that I’m clever. I declare that I’m lovable and that He loves me!” If that’s what you’ve heard, that’s the truth. Who are you or anyone else to think otherwise?
